Elcor is approved and listed on the Norwegian Food Safety Authority’s plant health register for the production and delivery of transport crates for export in all shapes and sizes.
Most countries have introduced – or are on the point of introducing – new plant health entry requirements for wooden pallets and other packaging solutions made of wood. This also applies to packaging that is being or has been used, and for all types of shipments. The reason for this is that materials of this kind can easily transport hazardous pests. The new requirements largely accord with the guidelines laid down in the international standard ISPM 15. The entry requirements therefore vary less than previously from one country to another.
Common requirements include ensuring that the wood has been given a treatment to kill any pests, and making sure that this can be documented in an approved manner. A special international labelling arrangement has now been set up for this.
